Local Writers: Join in the Fun!
Writing time is precious. What could be better than committing to write knowing that your efforts will also help fund the power and pleasure of writing for young people and community members across Western North Carolina?
Step 1 Sign up!
Sign up to be a competing writer . We'll send you a donation code that you can send out to your email list and post on your social media--this donation button will be coded just for you--so that we can track the number of sponsored donations you are receiving. ( which becomes important in step 4). We'll also put the link and your photo on this website.
Step 3 Write! (At home or at a Write-in)
Block out January 31st and February 1st and write your heart out. OR come to one of our write-ins on February 23 and write in the company of others. But don't worry about the number of words--no one will be checking. You only share if you want to...
Step 2 Tell Everyone You know
Tell all of your friends ( you know, Facebook, twitter, phone calls, casual conversation) and ask them to donate money in your name by clicking on the donation button we'll give you, giving you cash or a check made out to True Ink/ Asheville Writers in the Schools. ( Don't worry, we'll send you the complete instructions,, along with links and info to share).
Step 4 Claim your prize!
Be one of the top two sponsored adult writers and win a weekend at the Celo Inn or the beautiful Garden Cottage by bringing in the most sponsorship money. Click here to see the writer retreat locations
and feel great that you've helped to place a writer in a local school or community organization who will foster critical literacy skills and confident imaginations--celebrating the importance of every voice.
Step 5 Join Us at our grand finale event, Friday March 1st
