Asheville Writers in the Schools and Community
provides creative, innovative writing and arts programs to affirm imagination and community while building critical literacy skills. Children, teens and families who are too often overlooked and unheard are inspired to share their voices and power to create a more just and equitable world.
Check out this anthology from one of our Family Voices program, where 3rd graders and their families gather each week for a meal and writing together. Or, check out our the just-launchd bilingual, online magazine visioned, created and led by youth of color, Word on the Street/La Voz de Los Jovenes. ( Share this link with a young writer or artist--we're looking for submissions!)
